Jean-Karl Vernay wins his entry into the Supercup

Après s’être illustré en Indy Lights et en ILMC en catégorie LMP2, Jean-Karl Vernay s’est tourné vers un programme Porsche following the departure of Peugeot endurance. The 25-year-old French driver dominated the Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup France this year, winning no less than six victories with the 997 fielded by Sébastien Loeb Racing. The Frenchman will take a step forward next year by entering the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup after winning the reward offered by the Stuttgart manufacturer.

Jean-Karl Vernay shone at a test session organized by Porsche on the Vallelunga circuit. The reigning champion of the Carrera Cup France distinguished himself against eight other drivers from the various Carrera Cup Championships and the GT3 Cup Challenge Canada and thus won a prize of €200 to have a steering wheel. “Porsche’s support is a great opportunity for me”, comments the person concerned. “In Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, all drivers have to adapt to a new car. As a beginner, this means I would have a good chance of being competitive from the start. The Supercup is the pinnacle of Porsche Cups and has a good reputation as a launching pad for a professional GT career. »
