Kevin Estre returns to a double program in 2013

Author of the best race time at the last 12 Hours of Sebring in the GTC category, Kevin Estre has launched a 2013 season which will see him once again evolve within the pelotons of the Porsche Supercup and the German Carrera Cup. With his Attempto Racing team, the Lyonnais will aim for nothing other than the title in both series, after finishing runner-up in the Supercup, and best Rookie in the championship contested across the Rhine.

One of the difficulties this season will be juggling between the new 991 GT3 Cup, introduced in the Supercup, and the 997, still in force in the national Carrera Cups. “ For the moment, no one has tested the new car, with the exception of the official Porsche drivers responsible for its development., explains Kevin. I think it won't necessarily go faster in peaks, but it will undoubtedly be more efficient in turns and the gearbox will make it easier to brake with the left foot.. » The 991 differs from its predecessor by an increase in power equivalent to around ten horsepower, wider tires, increased aerodynamic downforce and a gearbox controlled by paddles on the steering wheel.

« My goal is to win one of the two championships? and if possible both. The competition will be tough but this dual objective is achievable given my experience, that of the team and the solidity of our collaboration, concludes the winner of the Carrera Cup France 2011. To achieve this, we will have to be better in qualifying and progress in strategy: choosing the right set-up, the right tires and the number of trains to pass at the right time, especially when the weather is changeable. This scenario occurred several times last year between free practice and qualifying. When you go too far in a relatively short race, it becomes more complicated, even if I managed some good comebacks in 2012 »
