The Phoenix arrives as leader at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring

Phoenix Racing won last year at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring with the victory of Marc Basseng, Christopher Haase, Frank Stippler and Markus Winkelhock. After the Audi R8 LMS ultra won the 24 Hours of Spa, Zolder and Daytona (class victory), the cars from Ingolstadt will be back for the 2013 edition of the double round of Hell. green contested exceptionally next Sunday and Monday. The victorious team returns with three crews. The No. 1 in the colors of G-Drive will be driven by Stippler-Winkelhock who will be accompanied by Marcel Fässler (champion WEC in title) and Mike Rockenfeller (who will travel from Brands Hatch after the race DTM). Franck Stippler will also ride in the No. 4 alongside Ferndinand and Johannes Stuck, and Michael Ammermüller. The German team's latest Audi, the No. 8 R3 LMS ultra, will be driven by Franck Biela, Christer Jöns, Luca Ludwig and Roman Rusinov.

“Thanks to our victory last year, I will arrive at the Eifel for the first time in a hunting position,” comments Franck Stippler who will be fielded on two cars. “This year there will still be at least eight cars fighting for victory and another eight waiting behind them. Our team principal, Ernst Moser, has won this race three times with Phoenix, our crew is competitive, and the new Audi R8 LMS ultra is even better than its older sister. The basics are good but we can't be sure of anything in this race, luck plays a role. » Five teams will compete with the R8 LMS which will be eight on the grid. If Team Mamerow and Audi race performance will be ones to watch, the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT should also play at the forefront with a crew made up of Christopher Haase, Christopher Mies, Edward Sandström and Laurens Vanthoor.
