The 2015 V8 Supercars season calendar

The V8 Supercars calendar for the 2015 season has been revealed. The organizers of the Australian Touring Car Championship have not shaken up the Championship, although a few dates are changing. The pre-season tests carried out at Sydney Motorsport Park will be carried out at the same time as the Bathurst 12 Hours, which risks harming the organizers of the event who were hoping to welcome drivers from V8 Supercars.

The calendar remains similar even if the Auckland race, now contested in the SuperSprint format, is postponed to November. “Our reflections have demonstrated that the current format of the tests is very successful,” commented V8 Supercars Executive Chairman James Warburton. Note that the SuperSprint events will offer no less than four hours of testing on Friday, incorporating team testing. “It makes sense to do it when spectators are present. It’s a doubly positive effect: there will be more cars on the track and costs will be reduced for the teams”, added the director of discipline.
