FIA GT begins at Silverstone this weekend

With the main protagonists of last season at the start, the framework of the set has not changed. The Vitaphone Racing Team will thus field two Maserati MC12s entrusted to Bartels / Bertolini for the No. 1 and Ramos / Muller for the No. 2. Also there, the Corvette Z06 from Pekaracing (formerly Phoenix Carsport Racing), with which Hezemans and Kumpen have high hopes. We regret the absence of Aston Martin from Jet Alliance Racing, but the field will not lack new features.

We will notably follow the debut of the cars previewing the 1 GT2010: the Ford GTs of Matech and VDS Racing Team, as well as the Nissan Skyline GTR officially entered by Nismo for the Krumm / Turner duo.

Absent in previous seasons, the French drivers are making their return to FIA GT with ambitions of victory. Teaming up with the Dutchman Xavier Maasen on the Corvette C6.R of Luc Alphand Aventures, Guillaume Moreau will seek to conquer a new title in Endurance, after that acquired last year in Le Mans Series. As for James Ruffier, reigning European GT3 Champion, he will make common cause with Bert Longin in another Corvette, entered by the Belgian SRT team.

There are also many new features in GT2. It front of Porsche et Ferrari constituting the references in the category, the Gard team Hexis Racing brings a little variety by entering an Aston Martin entrusted to Frédéric Makowiecki and Stefan Mücke. Still there, Emmanuel Collard will share the wheel of one of Prospeed's Porsches with Richard Westbrook.
