The FIA GT3 will stop in Slovakia

Stéphane Ratel was keen to attend his Russian meeting, scheduled for the Smolensk circuit, on which he even hopes to run his world championship cars in the near future. But for various reasons, the Russian round of the FIA GT3 championship will not take place. And as a fallback solution, the boss of SRO opted for Slovakia, as your AUTO magazine announced to youhebdo, in its issue released last Wednesday.

On August 20 and 21, for the 9th and 10th races of the season, the protagonists of the FIA GT3 European Championship will take place on the Slovakia Ring, a 5,9 km track opened in 2008 and located around forty kilometers away. from the capital, Bratislava. This is the first time that the championship will travel to Slovakia.

“I am delighted to be able to make it official that the FIA GT3 European Championship will take place in Slovakia next month, underlines Stéphane Ratel. When we were informed that the event in Russia could not be held, SRO did not have an easy task finding a good replacement solution, and the Slovakia Ring is the perfect solution. The track is long and wide and it will definitely be an interesting event. »

After the Slovak round on August 20 and 21, there will still be one more event to contest, on October 15 and 16 in the Netherlands, on the Zandvoort circuit.
