The GT3s will be less powerful at the Nürburgring

The DMSB has taken new safety measures on the Nürburgring Nordschleife following Jann Mardenborough's accident which cost the life of a spectator on Saturday March 28, 2015. After demanding Works on the Green Hell track, the German motor sports federation will limit the power of GT10s entered in the SP3, SP7, SP and SP Pro-X categories by 9%.

Certain aerodynamic elements such as the air intakes or the minimum ride height will also be reworked.

“GT3 manufacturers and manufacturers have understood that they contribute to the drop in times by several seconds per lap each year. The terrible accident earlier this year demonstrated that a limit had been reached. It is time for all parties involved to join in the changes”, commented Hans-Joachim Stuck, president of the DMSB.
