Macau GT – Edoardo Mortara wins, like in 2011

And four! The Macau GT Cup has just been won by Edoardo Mortara for the second time in a row. The Audi driver, by imposing the R8 LMS of Absolute Racing, entered by Audi Sport Asia, thus brings his series of successes in the capital of the game to four units in a row, after the two in F3 (in 2009 and 2010). Lucas Di Grassi had broken the politeness of the Italian at the flying start, but Edo' managed an unstoppable overtake on the Ferrari braking in Lisboa, during the 4th lap.

A safety car intervened from the 6th to the 9th lap for an exit of a Porsche late, and on the restart, the Brazilian could do nothing to threaten Edoardo Mortara. Lucas Di Grassi was even going to be excluded from the podium for having anticipated during the first start.

The Swiss Alexandre Imperatori, whose Absolute Racing Porsche StarChase required major repairs after his exit on Saturday in qualifying, took the 2nd step of the podium after putting himself out of reach of the McLaren United Motorsport by Danny Watts. Sixth at the start of the race behind the Japanese Keita Sawa, Romain Dumas experienced a problem with the accelerator even before the start. Perhaps the reason for the little hit he couldn't avoid on Sawa, who went straight into the tires at the end of the 2nd lap. The Alésien finished behind the Japanese Akira Iida.

The Chinese Li Zhi Cong, top driver of ART Motorsports, the team of Philippe Descombes and Rodolfo Avila, took 7th place, first in the specific ranking of Asian drivers in the GT Asia championship, of which he is runner-up to the Singaporean Mok Weng Sun.
