Makowiecki – Delétraz at Hexis

To be able to play leading roles, it was necessary to enlist the services of talented pilots. With Fred Makowiecki and Jean-Denis Delétraz, Hexis AMR has decided to combine youth and experience. A choice that could prove to be very judicious.

Makowiecki – Delétraz at Hexis

Stéphane Ratel can rejoice. Contrary to what some bad tongues might have suggested recently, its brand new FIA GT1 world championship looks great given the first crews announced. After the Young Driver and the Swiss Racing, it?s the turn of Hexis AMR to reveal the drivers who will take turns at the wheel of the?Aston Martin DBR 9 number 9.

Although a fan of endurance and therefore a fierce opponent of the new format of two races of one hour each, Jean-Denis Delétraz is leaving for an 11th campaign in FIA GT in order to try to pocket this title which still refuses him. Winner of the 24 Hours of Spa 2007, the 46-year-old Swiss, who arrives in the French structure with his loyal sponsor ACM.ch, already knows the car well having finished vice-champion in 2006 at the wheel.

He will be supported in his quest by the in-house pilot, Fréderic Makowiecki, 17 years his junior. Fourth in FIA GT3 last year (already with Hexis Racing), the Frenchman, who is increasingly asserting himself as a leader in the Grand Tourism categories, will have a busy 2010 season to say the least since he is back for another year in GT3 (with Manu Rodrigues) within the Gardoise team.

By entering GT1, Hexis AMR has decided to move up a gear. A great initiative for this team, the only French representative in this new championship. An audacity unfortunately poorly rewarded by the ACO which has, once again, decided not to invite Philippe Dumas and his men to the next edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
