Maxime Martin: “Finish in the top 3”

Five victories, four in the qualifying race and one in the championship race, such is Maxime Martin's record this season in the FIA GT1 world championship. The Belgian from the Marc VDS Racing Team currently occupies 6th place in the general classification. If the title is no longer possible, he and his team will want to finish the season in style, in order to leave the championship (see here) on a good note. Frédéric Makowiecki absent (see here), Yann Clairay will support him at the wheel of the No. 41 Ford GT, as was already the case at Portimao in May. On the sister car, the Belgian Bas Leinders will be supported by a local driver, named Ricardo Risatti, for whom San Luis has no secrets.

“On paper, the San Luis circuit is not the one that best suits our Ford GT, underlines Maxime Martin, who can still aim for third place in the championship. But we were pretty fast last year, and there's no reason why it should be any different this year. We will lose time on the long straight, that is obvious, but there are quite a few other places where we can compensate for this handicap. Yann (Clairay, editor’s note) knows the car well having already driven it this year at Portimao, and I think we can be competitive this weekend. It would be good for me, for the team and for everyone if we could finish this season in the top three of the championship, and that's why we will do our best this weekend in Argentina. »
