McLaren GT unveils Young Driver program

McLaren GT, who has already put on track the new 650S GT3 during the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi last December with a third place result, has just unveiled a program for young drivers which will integrate the Scotsman Ross Wylie, 23 years old, and the Northern Irishman Andrew Watson, 19 years old.

“It’s great that we are able to offer these promising young drivers the opportunity to be part of our team, and give a boost to their careers, says Andrew Kirklady, manager of McLaren GT. GT racing has never been more exciting, and there is plenty of talent on every grid every weekend, and it can be difficult for young drivers to show their true potential. This program is designed to give young people, who we believe have something special, a chance to show what they can do behind the wheel of a GT car, and also to work closely with our drivers. , our engineers and our technical teams, giving them access to our long experience at the highest level.”

Ross Wylie and Andrew Watson will work closely with official drivers Rob Bell, Alvaro Parente and Frenchman Kevin Estre. Their 2015 program should be revealed in the coming weeks.
