Natacha Gachnang takes the wheel again

Natacha Gachnang, seriously injured during qualifying for the first round of the GT1 World Championship in Abu Dhabi (see video), pursues his dream of being able to take part in 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Swiss driver, this Thursday, takes the wheel again by boarding a Ford GT3 in Zolder. “ I'm happy to be back behind a wheel “, she confided.

« Since the very first day of my rehabilitation, I have fought to get back into a car as quickly as possible. My doctors allowed me to take part in this test. It will be, above all, a physical assessment session », she commented before getting behind the wheel.

But, even if she gets back on board a GT, Natacha Gachnang confides that she will not try to draw on her limits, nor on those of the car. “ I have to drive for an hour on a circuit that I don't know, with many other cars on the track. It would be stupid to seek performance. »

But the Swiss confirms it: the ultimate objective is to be ready for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the first laps of which will take place in less than two weeks. “ It’s a step in my return to competition. But I still have work to do to get back to my usual level. My goal is to be ready for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. »
