The start of the 2020 season of the French Historical Circuit Championship, aka the Historic Tour, in Albi (Tarn) in mid-July made it possible to restart the good dynamics of historic races in France. The second round, scheduled for Dijon-Prenois (Côte-d'Or, August 14-16) should do even better.
The organizer HVM Racing announces nearly 350 drivers, around a hundred more than in Albi. This growth is partly due to French competitors having delayed their post-containment recovery, but also to the arrival of foreign delegations. These represent 30% of the participants in the paddock, thanks to the opening of European borders.
In addition, all 10 teams benefit from an increase in entrants. The prize goes to the Maxi 1300 Series and its German counterpart Kampf der Zwerge with 45 cars developing less than 1 cm300 announced!
Even the ASAVÉ Racing '65 and '75 categories are back to a satisfactory level. We can also cite the presence of a Chevron B8GT piloted by Éric Perou or a Aston Martin DB2 / 4 for Jean-Yves Grandidier.
On the sporting side, 11 drivers are tied for the lead of the French Championship with the Single-seater/Protos and GT/Tourism categories combined, namely: the French Matthieu Châteaux, Frédéric Rouvier, Arnaud Dousse, José Beltramelli, Ghislain Gaubert, Guillaume Gaubert, Florian Cabarrou, Laurent Sabatier and Franck Quagliozzi, the Swiss Christian Vaglio-Giors and the Monegasque Geoffroy Horion. This leading group should logically be reduced over the course of the races.
