Nothing is decided, but it is certain that Frédéric Makowiecki and Naoki Yamamoto had dreamed of a better scenario for qualifying for the 250 km of Motegi, the closing round of the 2013 Super GT. The n°010 Honda HSV-18 GT of Dome Weider Racing in fact failed in Q1, setting the 10th fastest time in 1'42"399. Third in the general classification with 6 points behind leaders Yuji Tachikawa and Kohei Hirate (Lexus SC430 no. 38), the Frenchman and his Japanese sidekick are one of the eight duos who will compete for the crown tomorrow. Tachikawa and Hirate set the fourth time in 1'41"582.
Among Fred Mako's other opponents, Koudai Tsukakoshi and Toshihiro Kaneishi (Honda HSV-010 GT n°17) set the second time in 1'41"490, narrowly failing to beat the polemen, namely Kazuya Oshima and Yuji Kunimoto ( Lexus SC430 n°6), credited in Q2 with a 1'41"367. But the latter are no longer in the running for the title, unlike the James Rossiter-Kazuki Nakajima (Lexus SC430 no. 36), Masataka Yanagida-Ronnie Quintarelli (Nissan GT-R no. 23), Tsugio Matsuda-Joao Paulo Lima De Oliveira (Nissan GT-R no. 12), Daisuke Ito-Andrea Caldarelli (Lexus SC430 no. °37) and Juichi Wakisaka-Hiroaki Ishiura (Lexus SC430 no. 39), who will start respectively tomorrow from the 13th, 3rd, 8th, 7th and 5th positions on the starting grid.
