Super GT – Team Tom'S wins at the Suzuka 1000 km

The James Rossiter crew? Kazuki Nakajima, lined up in the No. 36 Lexus RC F of Team Petronas Tom'S dominated the Suzuka 1000 km race starting from pole position. For a while, the No. 17 Keihin Real Racing Honda NSX-GT Concept looked like it could threaten the leaders but Tsukagoshi made a mistake in the 130R. The end of the race was clear for the leading car which at the finish was ahead of the official No. 23 Nissan GT-R of Team Nismo of Ronnie Quintarelli and Tsugio Matsuda. The latter took control of the Super GT championship. Winners here last year, Frenchman Frédéric Makowiecki and Japanese Naoki Yamamoto finished on the podium at the wheel of their No. 18 Honda NSX-GT Concept from Weider Modulo Dome Racing. This is Lexus' first victory since 2009 in this event.

In GT300, victory went to the BMW Z4 of the LM Corsa of the trio Akira Iida – Hiroki Yoshimoto – Shinya Sato.
