Super GT – Makowiecki, 5th at Fuji and new leader

Today the sixth round of the 2013 Super GT was held at the Fuji Speedway. Victory went to the Lexus SC430 of the Zent Cerumo team entrusted to the Japanese Yuji Tachikawa and Kohei Hirate. Starting from pole position, the two men covered the 66 laps of the race in 1h53'20"347. At the finish, they are ahead of the Honda HSV-010 GT n°17 of the Keihin team at the wheel of which we find another 100% Japanese pair, namely Koudai Tsukakoshi-Toshihiro Kaneishi. The Lexus SC430 Keeper Tom'S shared by the Japanese Daisuke Ito and the Italian Andrea Caldarelli completed the podium.

Frédéric Makowiecki and Naoki Yamamoto, whose No. 010 Honda HSV-18 GT in Weider Modulo colors equipped with Michelin rubber was heavily weighted following their victory at the Suzuka 1000 km, finished in fifth place. A more than honorable result, which allows the Franco-Japanese duo to take the lead in the general classification, tied on points with Tsugio Matsuda and Joao-Paulo Lima de Oliveira. With two rounds remaining (Autopolis still on the program on October 6 and Twin Ring Motegi on November 3), they are further asserting themselves as candidates for the title.
