Super GT – Oliver Jarvis, new Lexus recruit

Audi driver in Endurance, Oliver Jarvis was given ideas by his friends Loïc duval, André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer. In addition to his outings under the colors of the brand with the rings, the 30-year-old Briton will indeed compete in the Super GT in the No. 39 Lexus “RC-F” entered in GT500 by Team Sard, a championship won his three stablemates mentioned above. His teammate will be 32-year-old Japanese Hiroaki Hishiura.

This is the main change within the workforce of the brand belonging to Toyota in Super GT. Like last year, the Tom'S team will field two cars. Respectively registered under the banners Team Petronas Tom'S and Team Keeper Tom'S, n°36 and n°37 will be entrusted to the duos Kazuki Nakajima-James Rossiter and Daisuke Ito-Andrea Caldarelli. Sporting the No. 1 since titled in 2013, the “RC F” in the colors of Zent Cerumo will once again see outgoing champions Yuji Tachikawa and Kohei Hirate take action. No. 6 “Eneos Sustina” will have a pair composed of Kazuya Oshima and Yuji Kunimoto. Finally, the drivers of the No. 19 Denso Kobelco are not yet known. Apart from the latter, whose tire manufacturer has not yet been revealed, all will be fitted with Bridgestone.

Note that a car will also be entered in GT 300. It will have the number 31 taped to its body, and will be in the hands of Morio Nitta and Koki Saga. As a reminder, the GT500 regulations changed this year, with the sharing of chassis with the DTM. Thus, the Lexus RC F will be powered by the RI4AG engine, a 2,0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit with direct gasoline injection. The opening round is scheduled for April 6 at the Okayama circuit.
