Super GT – Victory and title for Quintarelli-Matsuda

Five crews could compete for the title this Sunday for the Japanese Super GT final. At the end of the Motegi event, the Italian Ronnie Quintarelli and the Japanese Tsugio Matsuda scored a double victory by winning at the wheel of their Nissan GT-R from Team Nismo and taking the crown. Authors of pole position at the end of the qualifications, the duettists were not worried during the race, while some of their rivals, notably the leader of the general classification before Motegi James Rossiter, associated with Kazuki Nakajima (Lexus RC F – Team Petronas Tom’s) experienced problems. The Briton clashed at the start of the event with the Nissan GT-R of Joao Paulo De Oliveira (Calsonic Team Impul), causing the two cars, which were in the running for the title, to lose a lot of time. Under the checkered flag, it was the Lexus RC F of Team KeePer Tom's of Andrea Caldarelli and Daisuke Ito which took second place ahead of the Honda NSX-GT of Weider Modulo Dome Racing of Naoki Yamamoto and Takuya Izawa.

In GT300, the title went to the GSR & Team Ukyo BMW Z4 of Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka, third in this final round, won by their rivals from Gainer Dixcel Björn Wirdheim and Katsuyuki Hiranaka (Mercedes SLS AMG).
