In addition to Ryô Hirakawa's announcement in WEC, Toyota also announced that it will participate in the Super GT championship with six vehicles. Two French people will start with the Japanese cars in 2022: Sacha Fenestraz with KeePer TOM'S GR Supra and Giuliano Alesi with TOM'S GR Supra. They will double with a program in Super Formula since they will also be lined up respectively with KONDO RACING and Kuo VANTELIN TEAM TOM'S. Alesi will be alongside Ritomo Miyata after a first victory in the discipline obtained this year at Autopolis. The pilots ofEndurance will not be left out in Super GT since the new Hypercar driver, Ryô Hirakawa, will also drive with Carenex TEAM IMPUL, while Kamui Kobayashi will be at KCMG. The latter will also carry out the rookie test: “I’m looking forward to joining the team for two days of testing. Due to my World Endurance Championship commitments with Toyota, I was only able to take part in one race weekend with KCMG, so it will be great to get in the car at Suzuka and begin our preparations for 2022.”
