GTA Co. Ltd, promoter of the series, aims to halve its CO2 emissions by 2030. Masaaki Bandoh, president of GTA, also confessed to still wanting to organize races "with engine noise" in ten years !

2023

– Introduction of Carbon Neutral Fuel – CNF, a non-fossil fuel derived from biomass in GT500 and GT300.

– Reduce the number of sets of tires per car and per 300 km race: 5 sets of Slicks and 6 of Rain, compared to 6 and 7 respectively in 2022.

 

2024-2026

– New generation of GT500 in 2024 to promote technologies to improve energy efficiency.

– Additional reduction in the number of sets of tires: 4 sets of Slicks and 5 of Rain.

 

2027-2030

– New generation of GT500 in 2027 (electrification technologies).

– Introduction of a synthetic fuel in GT500 and GT300.

 

Other initiatives underway until 2030

– Reduction of waste on circuits and promotion of the reuse of plastic waste.

– Environmental cooperation with local governments around the circuits. Continuation of forest conservation activities.

– Studies on the introduction of recycled tires
