Only one recruit for Young Driver in GT1

Like last year, Hexis AMR and Young Driver AMR will defend the interests ofAston Martin in the FIA GT1 world championship. If the crews of the French team had already been made official, the German team has just revealed the duos to which it will entrust its DB9s (Photos) this season.

In 2010, Darren Turner and Tomas Enge could still hope to win the crown at the final Argentinian meeting. This year, the Briton and the Czech will still be there, but will not make common cause. The first named will share the seat of the No. 9 Aston Martin DB8 with the German Stefan Mücke, his former teammate sharing the wheel of the No. 7 with Alex Müller, the new kid on the band. For him, the German already knows the car, behind the wheel of which he finished 3rd in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2009 in the GT1 category, without forgetting two seasons of FIA GT.

“I am delighted to have managed to sign Darren, Tomas and Stefan for a second season, explains team manager Hardy Fischer. The respective track records of these three drivers speak for themselves. We gained a lot of experience last year, and extending three drivers who were already with us in 2010, we are banking on continuity to glean better results. And Alex Müller, an extremely fast driver, joined us. Alex brings with him a lot of experience of the Aston Martin DBR9 and is a real plus for our team. The competition promises to be terrible? »

If some uncertainties still reign over the identity of certain competitors, it is clear that the Teams et pilots having already formalized their commitment are of high quality.
