Mark Winterbottom signs a second victory at Pukekohe (New Zealand) and takes advantage of Craig Lowndes' setbacks to increase his lead in the Championship.

V8 – Winterbottom lands another at Pukekohe

Mark Winterbottom (Ford Pepsi Max Crew) claimed a second victory during the last event held at Pukekohe. After starting from 4th place, the driver of the #5 Falcon immediately moved up to 2nd place behind Scott McLaughlin (Valvoline Racing GRM) and took the advantage over the pole sitter during the pit stops. The Championship leader wins the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy rewarding his performance over the entire weekend and increases his lead against Craig Lowndes (Triple Eight) who completely missed out on his weekend as he only signed 'a 20th place in the main 200km race.

Scott McLaughlin finally finished 2nd in his #60 S33 while Chaz Mostert offered a new podium to the Pepsi Max Crew Ford. Shane van gisbergen (Tekno Team VIP Petfoods), the winner of the 3rd event of the weekend, this time has to be content with a 4th place after resisting the pressure from Michael Caruso (Norton Hornets) who completes the top five in front Jason Bright (Team BOC), the winner of the first race, author of a superb comeback in the peloton from 17th place.
