V8SC – Scott McLaughlin from pole to victory

After having experienced a complicated Saturday, including an engine change between the first two races, Scott McLaughlin (Volvo Polestar) made up for it this Sunday by winning the last race of the Sydney event in Australia in a V8 Supercars. Starting from pole position, McLaughlin managed well the rapid intervention of the safety car on the first lap for a collision between David Reynolds (Rod Nash Racing) and Scott Pye (Dick Johnson Racing), initiated by the Ford of Mark Winterbottom before controlling at the end of the race the last attacks of a Nick Percat (Walkinshaw Racing – Holden) who was unleashed but who did not find the opening despite a problem with the leader's tires.

Fabian Coulthard (Lockwood Racing – Holden) completes the final podium after a fierce fight with James Moffat (Nissan Motorsport) and Jamie Whincup (Triple Eight Red Bull Racing Australia – Holden). The reigning champion who with his 5th place this Sunday increases his lead over Mark Winterbottom in the general standings with now 135 points ahead. The next meeting of the V8 Supercars will take place on September 14, for the raceEndurance Sandown 500 in Melbourne, Australia.
