VLN – And here is the Toyota GT86 CS-V3

TMG is not idle in this year 2012. Shortly after presenting its Yaris R1A, the sports branch of Toyota today unveils its GT86 CS-V3 TMG. A model intended for customer competition, priced at €38 excluding VAT. An interesting quality/price ratio when we detail the characteristics of the beast. Powered by a 500-liter four-cylinder engine with a power of 2,0 horsepower, this propulsion can reach 200 km/h. It was specially developed for the V225 category of the VLN (German championship held exclusively on the Nordschleife), but can also compete in other series reserved for Touring cars.

“We wanted to share our passion for motor sports with as many people as possible, and here is the result, underlines Yoshiaki Kinoshita, President of TMG. This car has already proven itself in competition since it won the V3 category at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and we hope to see it multiply on the circuits in the months to come. The GT86 is perfect for production racing. Originally, it already shines with its fantastic lines and its handling. It remained to sharpen its performance and complete its safety equipment to obtain a truly exciting and competitive customer competition, but also very economical. »

Compared to the production car, the work consisted of stiffening the chassis and optimizing the weight distribution from a racing perspective, as well as fitting an exhaust, suspension and racing brakes. A GT86 Coupe version is currently being considered.
