Baguette: “The objective will be to get the title”

How did this transfer to Real Racing go?

I didn't change teams last year for various reasons, but Honda always asked me to be patient, telling me that they were going to give me a competitive package and that's what made me happy. is coming this year. It’s Honda that places us within the teams. Real is a great team, they won the first race last year in Okayama, and Koudai Tsukakoshi is a great reference, who knows the team very well.

What did you miss about Nakajima?

If I am here today, it is thanks to them. I spent five great years there and we won the Suzuka 1000km together in 2017, even though we experienced more downs than ups. We suffered from the fact that the performance level of the tires was not consistent. The Dunlops performed well in fast curves – like at Suzuka – and on drying tracks. Their window of use was very limited and the problem was that we were the only ones who had them. When in doubt, no one could help us.

With the Brigestones, this will no longer be the case?

The Bridgestones have a larger window of use and there are nine cars – including three from Honda – which are fitted with them. So we can help each other. The package is great, it’s a great opportunity. The objective will be to get the title, that will change me.
