Blancpain GT – Garage 59 returns to Silverstone and Spa

After their coronation last season, Garage 59 had chosen to focus on the British GT and the GT Open, leaving its place in the championships managed by SRO Motorsports to Strakka Racing.

However, the English team has just announced its return to the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup for the Silverstone rounds this weekend, and the 24 Hours of Spa at the end of July in the Am Cup.

Top Gear presenter Chris Harris will drive the McLaren 650S GT3 for these two events alongside Chris Goodwing, test driver at McLaren Automotive and Alexander West, entered this year in GT Open with Frenchman Côme Ledogar, reigning Endurance Cup champion.

“The Endurance Cup is poised to establish itself as the most competitive GT competition in the world, says Chris Harris. And this, thanks to its ever-growing grid and the best professional drivers in the world.

The McLaren was the car to watch last year and it's great to join reigning champions Garage 59 for these two races with Chris and Alex. »

“After the successes of 2016, it’s great to return to the Blancpain series with the 650S GT3 for these two events, admits Tim Mullen, Team Manager of Garage 59.

The driver line-up we have is very exciting, with a mixture of experience, good pace and passion for racing. »
