C1 – First success for L’Espace Bienvenue in Magny-Cours

The start of the school year in Magny-Cours (Nièvre) allowed BMW to finally open its account in the 2019 season of the French Championship FFSAGT. Before Race 1 contested on Saturday September 14, Alpine and Audi had monopolized the top step of the podium.

A series which came to an end thanks to the strength of the duo formed by the Franco-American Christopher Cambell and the Dutchman Ricardo van der Ende. The two drivers of the family team L'Espace Bienvenue never gave up their advantage when starting from pole (except during the pit stop phase).

“We needed this success,” said Ricardo van der Ende. We have come a long way, winning in GT4 Europe at the Nürburgring two weeks ago and then doing it again here, that makes me proud. »

The fight for the championship turns in favor of the leaders Fabien Michal and Grégory Guilvert (Audi). The Saintéloc Racing crew, which came in second place, is now 17 points ahead of Pierre-Alexandre Jean and Stéphane Lémeret (Alpine, 10th).

The Mercedes from the Akka-ASP team animated the final of the event, with an effective comeback from Thomas Drouet (3rd) and Jim Pla (4th), qualified respectively… 20th and 8th! Finally, the Am class was won by Erwan Bastard and Valentin Simonet (Ginetta).
