C2 – Drouet-Ricci open their counter in FFSA GT at Magny-Cours

The emotion was so strong that he cried. At the time when his teammate Benjamin Ricci (Mercedes) crossed the finish line, Thomas Drouet expressed his joy. The young duo of the Akka-ASP team won Race 2 of the French Championship FFSAGT in Magny-Cours (Nièvre) at the end of the suspense.

The two drivers, aged 26 and 20, applied constant pressure on the experienced Jim Pla and Jean-Luc Beaubelique (Mercedes), until the latter made a mistake in the gravel. The Mercedes-AMG GT4 took the lead a few minutes from the end.

Even earlier, Édouard Cauhaupé (16 years old) and Arthur Rougier (19 years old) finished in second position, ahead of the 1998 World Football Champion, Fabien Barthez, associated with Mike Parisy (Mercedes).

In the championship, Fabien Michal and Grégory Guilvert (Audi) lost big. The duo, leader of the general classification after an efficient Race 1, retired after 10 minutes and two twists and turns.

“I had a water temperature alarm on the descent at the start, I hoped it would disappear, explained Grégory Guilvert, author of the second time in tests. I didn't know that when I hit the gas the Audi would go into safety mode.

Luckily, no one hit me. Then I was in the soft stomach, the pressures (air) were not there and when passing the chicane, perhaps a little too greedy, I pinched a little and that caused a puncture. I am very disappointed, This is really not a good move for the championship. »

Indeed Pierre-Alexandre Jean and Stéphane Lémeret (Alpine), arrived in fifth place, took the opportunity to get back to a handful of points. Finally, the Am category was won by Pascal Huteau and Valentin Simonet (Ginetta).
