Chevrolet takes advantage

After the downgrading of Andy Priaulx and eight other drivers, it was Augusto Farfus who started the race in first position. The Brazilian, winner of race 2 in 2008, did not enjoy it for long, the fault of Robert Huff. Starting in fourth position, the first Chevrolet Cruze made an excellent start and took three BMWs to take the lead in the race. After first outflanking Jorg Muller and Franz Engstler, Huff scolds Farfus.

Robert Huff then led the rest of the race, resisting repeated attacks from Farfus, Muller and Priaulx, the latter having managed a good overtake on Alain Menu (Chevrolet Cruze). Relegated to the back of the grid, the Seat Leont TDi have little hope of returning to the front. However, starting in 21st position, Yvan Muller picked up lap after lap to finish in twelfth place. After his victory in the first race in Marrakech - and that of Larini in the second Moroccan race - Robert Huff offers a third consecutive success to Chevrolet.
