Lively races in Le Castellet

Under an omnipresent sun, the start of race 1 is eventful and allows an initial hierarchy to take shape. Thus Stéphane Richelmi, who is taking his first steps in the category, associated with Eric Cayrolle, takes the lead ahead of Hernandez, Debard, Bornhauser, Police and Cormoreche.

The ?Rookie? doesn't take long to show off and escapes into the lead of the race. After refueling, he leaves the wheel to Cayrolle who occupies the front with 19 seconds ahead of Olivier Panis and Laurent Groppi. But Panis came back like a cannonball on the leader and, three turns from the checkered flag, collided with Cayrolle. The two cars spun and Laurent Groppi took the opportunity to take the lead ahead of Panis and Cayrolle. Panis, however, was downgraded by the Stewards, leaving his place to Eric Cayrolle and Stéphane Richelmi.

In race 2, Soheil Ayari, only sixth in race 1, leaves it to no one to lead the debates, closely followed by the residents of DKR Engineering, Olivier Panis and Laurent Cazenave. Ayari, however, is struck by bad luck and punctures for the second time in two days. The driver of the Corvette C6 R of Team Luc Alphand Aventures manages to return to the pits but the damage is too great and the team retires.

In front, Patrick Bornhauser passes Jean-Claude Police while Stéphane Richelmi lets go and passes all his opponents one by one. At the end of the race, behind Eric Debard, the same racing scene as the day before occurs again, but this time, the positions are reversed. Eric Debard very sportingly opens the door to return “his” victory to the SRT team!

In the general classification, Eric Debard and Olivier Panis remain in the lead before the last event of the season. The final round will take place in Lédenon on October 17 and 18 where four crews can still claim the title.
