Dumas wins the Grand Challenge

The Pôle Mécanique d?Alès, for this second edition of the Grand Challenge, was full of applicants. So much so that the organizers, who were able to quickly register one hundred participants, had to set up a waiting list. And, shortly before the start of the weekend, the first driver on this waiting list was able to benefit from the withdrawal of a competitor, Jean-Paul Guedj. And what a driver, since Alex Bengué was thus able to join the Grand Challenge field, with the Peugeot 307 WRC from team 2C.

Alex Bengué, penalized by a poor choice of tires, lost four seconds on his rival in this last passage, allowing Romain Dumas to win the Grand Challenge for the second year in a row. Third, Fabrice Morel finished only four tenths behind Alex Bengué. We then found Gaëtan Sérazin (307 D3), Michel Bonfils (Subaru WRC), Yannick Vivens (106 Maxi) and Germain Bonnefis (Clio R3 Maxi).
