FFSA-GT – AutoVitesse returns to Magny-Cours

Present last season twice, the AutoVitesse team is preparing to make its return to the GT Tour. Michel Duvernay's team will field a Lamborghini Gallardo equipped with the 2013 kit for Cédric Leimer and Jonathan Cochet. The two men will try to do well before, why not, participating in the final of the French GT Championship.

At the start of the Navarra rounds and then Paul Ricard last year, the AutoVitesse team was left wanting after being involved, despite itself, in several accidents. “Today we are making a new attempt” explains Michel Duvernay. ?I hope it goes well because last year?s experience was frustrating. Our Lamborghini now has the 2013 evo kit and it requires a lot of tuning. The front axle is more operational and efficient, but the car is delicate at the rear axle, with less aero downforce than at the front. We did several test sessions and the last one was positive. »

The team will always rely on Cédric Leimer and Jonathan Cochet. The first named remains on two titles in Lamborghini Super Troféo of which he is the current leader. His teammate has great experience, having gone through car, sports-protos and GTs. What is there to be ambitious about in Magny-Cours? “Our goal is to achieve the best possible result. During our last test, an Audi was present and we therefore have a small idea of where we stand, but it?s difficult to say. We weren't far off the mark, so we hoped to be competitive. » Depending on the results obtained in Nièvre, AutoVitesse does not rule out a presence at the GT Tour final at Le Castellet. “Everything will depend on our performance at Magny-Cours” specifies Michel Duvernay. ?Our workshops are located 200km away and it?s a beautiful circuit, so we seized the opportunity that presented itself. If we are in it, why not run at Paul Ricard. We target attractive leads. »

AutoVitesse will be the first team to field a Lamborghini Gallardo Spec-2013 in France. The Italian GT will find no less than seven other models on its road: Aston Martin DBRS9, Audi R8 LMS ultra, BMW Z4, Ferrari 458, McLaren MP4-12C, Nissan GT-R et Porsche 911 GT3 R.
