FFSA-GT – Advantage for the McLarens before Imola

After Le Mans At the start of the month, the GT FFSA French Championship and Cup cross the Alps to reach Imola, Italy, and the “Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari ". In this mecca of motorsport, two one-hour races are on the program and are already expected to be contested between the Aston Martin DBRS9, Audi R8 LMS ultra, BMW Z4, Ferrari 458, Porsche 911 GT3 R, Nissan GT-R et autres McLaren MP4-12C. Advantage for the latter, after two victories in two races on the Bugatti circuit during the opening round of the season. ART Grand Prix leads the Drivers' ranking with Grégoire Demoustier and Ulric Amado, while Sébastien Loeb Racing follows closely with Laurent Pasquali and Anthony Beltoise, the 2011 French champions having secured the first victory of the year. Third team to field the McLaren, Hexis Racing will try to move forward after a complicated first meeting.

If the Porsche 911 GT3 R from the reigning double champion team did not taste victory, Pro GT by Almeras is in control of the Team Trophy. With the third place overall for Philippe Giauque and Franck Perera, but also the first podium for Eric Dermont and Enzo Guibbert, Philippe Alméras' team has several strings to its bow. Without forgetting Franck Morel and Erwin France, co-leaders of the Coupe de France GT. Pro GT by Almeras can therefore aim for first place at all levels. The Imola circuit being located less than 100 kilometers from the Ferrari factory, it is clear that fans will only have their eyes on the 458 GT3s on the track. There will be four of them. Two for Team Sofrev-ASP, which is in ambush both among the Drivers – Fabien Barthez and Morgan Moullin-Traffort are currently 4th – and among the Teams – the team is in 3rd place. Sport Garage will also be among the contenders for the podium, with Eric Cayrolle and Jacques Villeneuve on one side, and Gilles Duqueine and Laurent Groppi on the other.

Respectively 5th and 6th in the Team Trophy, Saintéloc Racing BR Performance and TDS Racing will be among the outsiders with two Audi R8 LMS ultras and two BMW Z4s respectively. Given the level displayed at Le Mans, these two teams will certainly have their say. Ditto for JMB Racing, whose Nissan GT-R made a rather promising debut in the hands of Nicolas Misslin and Alex Buncombe. In all, 23 GTs will be at the start of this second stage contested on trans terrain.alpine. The races of the French Championship and the Coupe de France GT can be followed on the official championship website.
