FFSA GT – BMW achieves the double with Johais and Piguet

Started once again on pole in Race 2 of the FFSAGT at Magny-Cours (Nièvre), the No. 4 BMW M9 of BMW Team France driven by Julien Piguet and Frédéric Johais once again won at the end of an event again interrupted by a red flag. The Propeller car remained untouchable on the Nivernais circuit and became the first car to remain undefeated at a meeting.

The fight for second place offered a superb duel between the Porsche Cayman n°18 Martinet by Almeras from Hassid-Palette and n°30 CD Sport from Vannelet-Parisy. The car of the title contenders, however, retired following contact between Henry Hassid and Gilles Vannelet when the first city attempted a maneuver, but the red flag which followed allowed the CD Sport crew to save its place on the podium and regain the lead of the Pro-Am Championship against Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche whose Ginetta G55 n°8 Speed Car finished 6th after starting from the sixth row.

Energy by ART completed the top five with the McLaren 570S n°3 of Hernandez-Gachet and the Porsche n°4 of Ferté-Demoustier.

CMR had high hopes of fighting for victory with the No. 26 Ginetta of Ayari-Tardif, but Soheil Ayari quickly retired with a mechanical problem. The No. 22 Martinet by Almeras Porsche from Beltoise-Estèves was also unable to finish the race following contact.

The results remain provisional due to several investigations by commissioners.
