FFSA GT: Mirage Racing sees triple in 2021

Finally, everything is ready. Like many teams, Mirage Racing has experienced a winter of twists and turns between about-faces and feverish expectations. The Toulouse team will ultimately enter three cars, as in 2020. Last year, Vincent Beltoise and Rodolphe Wallgren were content, despite a success, with third place in Pro-Am, undermined by several mechanical and driving problems.

“We have to make a little less mistakes this year than last year and try to stay out of problems because luck happens” according to Frédéric de Brabant, the team manager.

In 2021, Mirage Racing will have two reshuffled crews in the Alpine A110 GT4. Vincent Beltoise will ride alongside Romano Ricci, while Rodolphe Wallgren will be associated with Gaël Castelli.

“Romano really wanted to ride with Vincent so the first crew was done quickly, then we found Gaël to complete a second very good duo with Rodolphe. »

Mirage Racing will also field for the first time a Aston Martin Vantage GT4, in the hands of Ruben del Sarte and Yves Lemaître in the Pro-Am category.

The team also continues to evolve behind the scenes. Technical director Laurent Martin has left for other horizons and the structure will benefit from a new workshop near Toulouse.

“It should allow us to be better structured, to have everything at home,” explains Frédéric de Brabant. Before, we were obliged to entrust certain operations to a third party, it worked but in the long term, we must have our own basis to optimize costs. It’s also more comfortable to work on. » Title objective, starting this year.
