Alpine and CMR sign the double in Nogaro

Winner yesterday during the Sunday Easter Cup race in Nogaro, theAlpine A110 GT4 n°36 – CMR of Pierre-Alexandre Jean and Stéphane Lémeret signed the double this Monday at the end of a perfectly controlled race.

It was at the start that Pierre-Alexandre Jean largely built the victory of the Gard car by braking at the Ferme corner, and from the outside, the poleman Grégory Guilvert.

And on a Gers track where overtaking is not necessarily the easiest, this maneuver offers a significant advantage to the resident of theAlpine A110 n°36 – CMR. Jean remained under pressure for a while from the No. 8 Audi R42 LMS – Saintéloc Racing of the title holder, but gradually broke away to enter the driver change window with a lead of almost 6″.

Behind the leading duo, Jim Pla (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°87 – AKKA-ASP) puts constant pressure on Simon Gachet (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°14 – Saintéloc Racing). The two Frenchmen, also competing in the Blancpain GT Series, clearly lead the first stint.

Pla waited until the twentieth minute to find the opening when braking at the hairpin and take third place, before widening the gap on Gachet.

After the driver changes phase, the lead of the race remains the property of theAlpine A110 n°36, now entrusted to Stéphane Lémeret, teammate of Pierre-Alexandre Jean. The Belgian is a little more than 7″ ahead of Fabien Michal (Audi R8 no. 42) and 12″ over Jean-Luc Beaubelique (Mercedes-AMG no. 87).

If the leading tandem will no longer change until the checkered flag with the double for Jean and Lémeret ahead of Michal-Guilvert, the third step of the podium goes to theAlpine A110 GT4 n°111 of Stéphane Tribaudini and Rudy Servol, the latter having taken the advantage over Jean-Luc Beaubelique less than 2′ from the finish.

Fifth during the second part of the event, Eric Debard, relaying Simon Gachet in the No. 8 Audi R14, was forced to observe a stop&go for non-compliance with the pitstop time. The top 5 is thus completed by the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG GT16 – AKKA-ASP of Aurélien Panis and Fabien Barthez.

In Am, Pascal Huteau and Valentin Simonet (Ginetta G55 GT4 n°22 – K-Work) won.
