2020 calendar revised and SRO-FFSA contract extended for the FFSA GT

The 2020 calendar for the French Championship FFSAGT was confirmed this Friday, on the sidelines of the start of the national series on the Nivernais route of Magny-Cours.

Already largely outlined during the SRO Motorsports press conference at the last 24 Hours of Spa, the program for the next campaign will begin as tradition dictates at the Nogaro Easter Cups (April 10-13), before a detour to the Pau city. , round shifted from May 21 to 24.

Which will result in one of the busiest weekends in terms of motorsport with the Grand Prix F1 of Monaco, Indy 500 or even the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

Lédenon will finally host the championship from June 18 to 21 before the detour outside France during the SRO Speed ​​Week in Spa (July 17-19) just before the 24 Hours of Spa.

Magny-Cours (September 11-13) and Paul Ricard (October 2-4) will conclude the season as planned. However, there are some new features with night races held in Pau (as since 2017), but also in Magny-Cours and Paul Ricard.

The Nivernaise round will also host an endurance format, with a two-hour race. “Like every year, the selection was extremely difficult to select some of the biggest circuits in France and Spa-Francorchamps, but we think we have found a good balance with six tracks all bringing their specificities and difficulties. » underlines general manager Laurent Gaudin.

Extended contract between SRO and the FFSA

Having come to relaunch the French Championship via the introduction of the GT4 category at the start of 2017, SRO Motorsports saw its formula meet with great success on the national scene with grids regularly displaying around forty cars.

The FFSA did not remain indifferent to this success, and reached an agreement with the troops of Stéphane Ratel and Laurent Gaudin to extend the adventure over the next three years. SRO Motorsports will be responsible for promoting the FFSA GT series and the French Circuit Championship in its entirety, including the support series.
