CD Sport doubles the stakes at Paul Ricard

Laurent Cazenave can leave Paul Ricard with a smile: his drivers Edouard Cauhaupé and Fabien Lavergne (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°2) signed a second victory in three events contested this weekend, thus carrying out a superb operation in the Silver ranking of the FFSAGT 2020.

The start of this third confrontation saw pole sitter Thomas Drouet (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°88 – AKKA-ASP) miss his start, which mainly benefited Mike Parisy (Aston Martin Vantage GT4 n°89 – AGS Events) and Fabien Lavergne (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°2 – CD Sport) who escaped at the head of the race.

Behind the two leaders, Akhil Rabindra (Aston Martin Vantage GT4 n°69 – AGS Events) climbed into 3rd position for a time, then leaving the Toyota GR Supra GT4 n°30 – Toyota Gazoo Racing France by CMR of Aurélien Panis take the best.

The fight raged a little further on, notably with contact between Adrien Tambay (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°27 – Saintéloc Racing) and Vincent Beltoise (Alpine A110 GT4 n°222 – Mirage Racing), which lost several positions, when Grégory Guilvert (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°42 – Saintéloc Racing) was forced to give up two places on the track after having cut to avoid theAlpine in decline at Sainte-Baume.

The positions hardly changed at the head of the race and Mike Parisy gave way to Nicolas Gomar after the obligatory change of driver. The latter, however, quickly lost to Edouard Cauhaupé, who placed the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG GT2 – CD Sport at the forefront.

A decisive overtake for a second victory in three races this weekend for the duo formed with Fabien Lavergne, who also won the Silver classification. Seconds, Mike Parisy and Nicolas Gomar also win in Pro-Am and precede Paul Petit and Thomas Drouet, second in Silver.

Julien Piguet and Aurélien Panis, who could have aimed for a podium with the Toyota GR Supra GT4, were forced to retire in the last ten minutes after a broken front wishbone.

The top 5 is completed by Sacha Bottemane and Lonni Martins (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°6 – Team Full Motorsport), who got on the podium in Silver and Benjamin Lariche – Robert Consani (Alpine A110 GT4 n°8 – Team SpeedCar).

Fabien Michal and Grégory Guilvert finished 6th (2nd in Pro-Am) ahead of the duo Christopher Campbell – Nicolas Cheers (Alpine A110 GT4 n°36 – CMR), third in Pro-Am.

In the Am Cup, Didier Dumaine and Christophe Carrière won their #4 Aston Martin Vantage GT161 from Team AGS Events.
