FFSA GT-C1: Ekris Motorsport emerges from the night in Pau

Contested at night in the streets of Pau, the first confrontation of the weekend in FFSAGT was dominated by the BMW M4 Ekris GT4 from Ekris Motorsport, coming to strengthen the field of the French FFSA GT Championship.

Entrusted to the duo Ricardo van der Ende – Max Koebolt, the imposing German GT, starting from pole position, thwarted the agile Ginetta G55s of Team SpeedCar. During the first stint, Max Koebolt contained the attacks of the No. 55 G8 of Robert Consani, before his teammate Ricardo van der Ende left no chance to Benjamin Lariche, also put under pressure by Gaël Castelli, who returned to the duo of lead with the G55 n°444 after taking over from Rodolphe Wallgren.

At ease in the winding sectors, the Ginetta G55s were unable to do anything on the main straight, where the engine of the BMW M4 Ekris did wonders to allow the Koebolt – van der Ende tandem to win at the end of race time.

The SpeedCar Team finally saw a double podium escape it, since a contact between the No. 8 and the No. 444 less than ten minutes from the finish caused the two cars of the Gard team to fall back, Castelli being punished with a drive-through for causing the collision.

Jimmy Antunes and Sylvain Noël (Porsche Cayman Clubsport GT4 n°11 – Racing Technology) therefore inherits second place ahead of the Ginetta G55 n°26 – CMR de Ayari – Tardif. Benjamin Lariche saves fourth place for Team SpeedCar by preceding the second Racing Technology Porsche Cayman of Jim Pla and Pierre Sancinéna.

Gaël Castelli and Rodolphe Wallgren finished 6th ahead of Steven Palette and Henry Hassid (Porsche Cayman GT4 n°18 – Martinet by Alméras). Mike Parisy – Gilles Vannelet (Porsche Cayman n°30 – CD Sport), Julien Piguet – Frédéric Johais (BMW M4 Ekris n°9 – BMW Team France) and Csaba Mor – Finlay Hutchinson (McLaren 570S GT4 n_10 – Equipe Verschuur) complete the top 10.

In Am, Jean-Philippe and Paul Lamic (Ginetta G55 n°54 – Vic'Team) won.
