FFSA GT – Christophe Lapierre joins Parisy at CD Sport

After winning the title of champion of France FFSAGT avec Gilles Vannelet, Mike Parisy remettra son sacre en jeu en continuant à évoluer sur une Porsche Cayman alignée par CD Sport. Le Palois de 33 ans sera cette fois-ci associé à Christophe Stone who also remains on a title won in Porsche Carrera Cup B with Sébastien Loeb Racing.

“I'm a loyal person and I like the idea that I'm building something with this team, comments the reigning French FFSA GT champion. Laurent Cazenave and I are both from Pau and that makes our relationships easier. I wanted to finalize my program as quickly as possible because in motorsport, it is important to have a head start to prepare as best as possible with peace of mind. »

“With Christophe Lapierre, whom I appreciate both on a human and sporting level, the common desire to ride together quickly became evident. In two years, I would have been able to race with those I consider to be the two best French Bronze drivers in terms of pure speed, consistency and racing intelligence., adds Mike Parisy.

The crew will have a hard time facing a growing grid which will welcome new models such as the new KTM X-BOW GT4, but the Porsche Cayman won the votes within CD Sport.

“As a Pro, it’s very motivating. I was more undecided on the choice of continuing with a Porsche because the electronic problems which affected us penalized our performances. But we will benefit from the hard work carried out in 2017 by CD Sport and everything is in place to play the leading roles from Nogaro. I think Porsche will be able to give us the right weapons to go back into battle... And then, the prospect of having the best possible teammate took precedence over the choice of car! ", concluded Mike Parisy.

The amateur driver of the crew is in fact very linked to the Stuttgart brand since he manages the Porsche Center in Montélimar (Drôme).

“The Porsche Carrera Cup remains the reference in sprinting and in my heart, but after winning five B titles in six years, and having won on the great circuit of Le Mans as the curtain raiser of the 24 Hours this year, it was time that I set a new objective in agreement with my partners: to fight for a new title in the premier GT category. But three conditions had to be met… a successful teammate, a Porsche and a top team”, explains Christophe Lapierre.

“Mike and I are friends and have been talking about our partnership for some time now. He is undoubtedly one of the best drivers today, due to his experience and his speed. Character-wise, things should go well! Then, I had the opportunity to replace my friend David Hallyday at the Pau Grand Prix with CD Sport, a team that I have respected for a long time. On this occasion, I was able to appreciate the competitiveness of the team. »

“Regarding the Porsche Cayman MR, Manthey Racing and indirectly Porsche will, I am convinced, have the pride, human and technical resources to help us raise the car to the top of the ranking sheets, because the competition will be strong. Finally, SRO has every interest in balancing the performances of each to make the championship attractive and so that the difference is made especially at the wheel. I have confidence in them, they know how to do it. Our package is in the game on paper, it’s up to us to prove it on the track”, added Christophe Lapierre.
