FFSA GT – Las Moras Racing Team wins at Paul-Ricard

Max Braams and Duncam Huisman won Race 1 of the FFSAGT at Paul-Ricard (Var). The pilots of the McLaren The No. 570 99S from Las Moras Racing Team, which started from pole, retained the advantage at the start, with Max Braams holding off the No. 4 BMW Ekris M9 of Frédéric Johais. Although the latter lost a few positions, his teammate Julien Piguet managed to regain second place without being able to threaten the leading car.

“Our McLaren has been performing very well since the start of the weekend and we are clearly more comfortable than two weeks ago in Barcelona, comments Duncan Huisman. Max (Braams) and I also enjoy the Circuit Paul Ricard. Despite appearances, it was not a walk in the park, especially at the start of the race. Max did a great job taking pole position. On Sunday, the cards will be redistributed as the BMW will start from the front on the grid. This promises a great fight at the front! »

While the VicTeam team missed the grid, the Porsche Cayman n°64, who was supposed to start on the front line, found herself having to start from the back of the peloton. Olivier Jouffret and Éric Trémoulet, however, managed to come back to secure the last step of the podium.

The fight for the title strengthens a little more in Pro-Am since Gilles Vannelet and Mike Parisy, the drivers of the Porsche no. 30, find themselves tied on points with Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche. The CD Sport crew secured fourth place ahead of the Speed Car crew in the #55 Ginetta G8. While the British car lacked pace due to mechanical issues, it managed to finish fourth but was handed a two-second penalty for an advantage gained outside of track limits.

In Am, Stéphane Tribaudini is getting closer to the coronation after winning another category victory alongside Michaël Petit in the No. 111 Ginetta from the CMR team. Seven points ahead of Fabien Michal and Georges Cabanne, he now has a 24-point lead with one race remaining in the season. The crew of CMR's Ginetta No. 666 finished in sixth place in the category, the penultimate place in the general classification.

The debut of the Ford Mustang in FFSA GT entrusted to Scott Maxwell was running in the top ten before retiring due to mechanical problems.
