The French Championship FFSAGT includes three categories, which are so many races within the race. And we didn't have to wait until the season finale, mid-October on the Circuit Paul Ricard (Var), to find out the first champions. Starting from pole position, Erwan Bastard and Roee Meyuhas knew that, mathematically, they had a chance to seal the fate of the Silver Cup this weekend.

In front of spectators who came in large numbers to the Lédenon Circuit (Gard), the 24-year-old Frenchman and his 22-year-old Israeli-American teammate did not tremble. By winning their fourth victory of the season in their Audi R8 LMS GT4, the representatives of Saintéloc Racing achieved their dream. With four successes, seven podiums and ten finishes in the top 5 in ten races, they made a practically perfect copy. A few minutes after the checkered flag, the emotion was palpable. “It’s difficult to do,” they confided in turn, with tears in their eyes. “We knew it was possible today, but it took a combination of circumstances for the planets to align. »

Benjamin Lessennes and Ricardo van der Ende had to enter the top 5 to keep a – very slim – hope of winning a second title after their coronation in 2020. Plagued by unforeseen tire degradation on the BMW M4 GT4, the duo of L Espace Bienvenue was unable to maintain its third place on the starting grid. Finally sixth in the Silver Cup, the two men buried their last title chances.

Two Mercedes-AMG GT4 from the Akkodis-ASP team completed the podium in the Silver Cup with the #88 of Thomas Drouet-Paul Evrard ahead of the #87 of Enzo Joulié-Hugo Chevalier. Fourth after their retirement the day before, Victor Weyrich and Romain Carton (Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 #74 – Racing Team Spirit of Léman) saved their weekend by beating Gaël Castelli and Alexandre Cougnaud (Audi R8 LMS GT4 #111 – CSA Racing).

Pro-Am: Prost and Servol revenge

The title is not yet in the bag, but it is a huge step which has been taken by Rudy Servol and Nicolas Cheers in the Pro-Am category. In pole position in its category, theAlpine A110 GT4 #36 never relinquished the lead. After going off the track which put an end to their first race on Saturday, the drivers of the CMR team recovered perfectly by going for the 25 points of victory this Sunday. With a 36-length lead and 52 points still to be awarded, they will be the big favorites in the final at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

Hugo Bac and Nicolas Gomar (Aston Martin Vantage #7 – AGS Events) finished at the foot of the Pro-Am podium, ahead of Grégory Guilvert and Grégory Curson Faessel (Audi R8 LMS GT4 #42 – Saintéloc Racing), well recovered after starting from back of the starting grid following a transmission failure during qualifying practice.

Am Cup: Rédélé-Coubard drive the point home

In a close fight for a title, you can't make any mistakes. First to take the checkered flag in the Am Cup, Michael Blanchemain and Christophe Hamon (Audi R8 LMS GT4 #69 – Team Fullmotorsport) nevertheless saw victory elude them after the application of a 10-second penalty following a contact with… the other Audi of the Bordeaux team.

Jean-Charles Rédélé and Laurent Coubard weren't asking for so much! By securing their fourth victory, the drivers of theAlpine A110 GT4 #76 from Bodemer Auto regained the lead of the Am Cup by one point before the final at Le Castellet. Far behind the two candidates for the title, Kevin Jimenez and Florent Grizaud (Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 #72 – GPA Racing) climbed onto the podium for the 6th time, thus consolidating their provisional third place in the championship. For this second race of this Gard stage, the top 5 of the Am Cup was completed by the Mercedes-AMGs of Eric Alanis-Alberto De Martin (#77 – NM Racing Team) and Aurélien Robineau-Paul Paranthoen (#3 – CD Sport).

If the title is decided in the Silver Cup, the suspense remains in the Pro-Am and Am Cup before the season finale, scheduled for the Circuit Paul Ricard from October 14 to 16 in Le Castellet.
