FFSA GT – Yvan Muller Racing arrives in GT4 in 2018

The French Championship FFSAGT has the wind in its sails. After a first year where the starting grids exceeded thirty vehicles entered, the competition organized by SRO is preparing to welcome a new team in 2018. The Yvan Muller Racing, player in LM P3 in European Le Mans Series (ELMS) for two years, will align two Mercedes-AMG GT4s next season.

The structure, founded by four-time world touring car champion (WTCC) Yvan Muller in 2014, will be responsible for launching the German model at the national level. The identities of the two crews will be revealed in the coming weeks. For the Alsatian owner, this commitment results from a desire to face new challenges. “At the end of each season, I evaluate all options as to the direction to take with Yvan Muller Racing. After two years of LMP3, the question arose about switching to LMP2 in 2018, but we finally chose to take a different option in addition to our LMP3 program by launching into GT for the first time with our partner. »

“For Yvan Muller Racing, this is obviously a whole new challenge, but tackling such varied disciplines can only be an enrichment for the team, and we are delighted to be at the first race in Nogaro », continues the former WTCC driver. This announcement follows in particular when KTM arrives in 2018 in FFSA GT. The season will begin on the Paul-Armagnac circuit in Nogaro in Gers during the Easter weekend (March 30 to April 2).

2018 FFSA GT French Championship Calendar:
March 30-April 2: Nogaro (Gers), Easter Cups

July 13-15: Dijon (Côte-d’Or)
