The Audi R8 LMS GT4s, which have been in high spirits since the first free practice sessions on Friday, confirmed the trend during the first qualifying session. The three-time French Champion FFSAGT in title, Fabien Michal, had not found himself at such a celebration in this exercise since last year and set the benchmark in 2:13.418 at the wheel of the German n°42 of the Sainteloc Junior Team. The first row of the starting grid for Race 1 will be shared by another GT4 from the company with the rings, the No. 5 (Team Fullmotorsport), from the duo Christophe Hamon – Pascal Huteau, racing in Am. Pole in the Silver Cup goes to the No. 6 sister car of Sacha Bottemanne and Lonni Martins, third overall. Next comes the leader of the Silver championship, Romain Leroux on behalf of theAston Martin Vantage n°007 from AGS Events.

On the other hand, it is much more complicated for the candidates for the Pro-Am title of Mercedes n°16 (AKKA ASP), at the top of the championship, and theAlpine n°222 (Mirage Racing), second, qualified 17th and 14th respectively for race 1…

After Michal in Q1, it was his teammate in the No. 42 Audi, Gregory Guilvert who won in Q2 by completing a 5,822 kilometer loop in 2:12.337. In the pits in the last minutes of the session, the Saintéloc driver saw Mike Parisy getting dangerously close, less than 4 tenths from pole (2:12.706), thus placing the No. 89 Aston Martin Vantage in second position. Two Mercedes from AKKA ASP will share the second row of the grid for race 2, the No. 81, in front of the No. 16, which is back at the front after a complicated Q1. Pole in the Silver Cup for Valentin Hasse-Clot (AGS Events) while Pascal Huteau is the fastest in Am.

The first race of this Var meeting will take place this Saturday evening, in nighttime conditions (22:55 p.m.-23:25 p.m.).
