Fifth in the first race of the meeting, Éric Debard and Simon Gachet were on the attack this Sunday for the last outing of the weekend on the Cévennes slide. Qualified second with their Mercedes AMG GT4 No. 81, the two men put in a successful performance this Sunday.
Commander of the German mount at the start, Simon Gachet had a very good first part of the race. Positioned in the exhausts of Edouard Cauhaupé (CD Sport), he maintained a good racing pace which allowed him to keep his opponent in his sights in the first 30 minutes.
Everything then seemed complete for the No. 81 to finish on the second step of the podium, but the vagaries of the race changed everything. In the lead with less than 5 minutes to go, Jean-Ludovic Foubert, teammate of Edouard Cauhaupé, was surprised by the accident between the No. 4 and the No. 67 damaging his Mercedes AMG GT4. A godsend for Éric Debard who took control while his rival was forced to retire.
In great form this Sunday, Éric Debard and Simon Gachet won their first victory of the season while the Alpine A110 GT4 No. 35 from Bodemer Auto (Ferté/Demoustier) and No. 110 from CMR (Chéli/Lémeret) complete the podium.
