Espace Bienvenue wins the gong in Magny-Cours

Completely crazy. The last two laps of race 2 at Magny-Cours led to a complete turnaround in FFSAGT, thanks to or because of a penalty-laden safety car. The Espace Bienvenue BMW came back from nowhere and emerged victorious in the hands of Ricardo Van der Ende and Benjamin Lessennes. Let's recap.

Until this event, the scenario was simple and clear. Starting from pole, the reigning champions Grégory Guilvert and Fabien Michal would win in front of the Mercedes CD Sport by Edouard Cauhaupé and Fabien Lavergne, winner on Saturday.

Behind, the surprising Erwan Bastard and Sylvain Caroff, in the AM category, held an exceptional fifth place overall.

So yes, already, the BMW was coming back little by little after finding itself beyond the top 5 because of the longer pit stops for the Silvers. She was in third position five minutes from time ahead of the AKKA-ASP Mercedes of Jim Pla and Jean-Luc Beubelique.

And patatra. Sylvain Caroff missed his braking at the Adelaide hairpin, hit the Mercedes AKKA-ASP and remained stuck on the spot. The accident spoiled the party for the small ANS Motorsport team and its Ginetta.

Above all, it allowed the safety car to come out and regroup everyone. Third, Espace Bienvenue took the lead from the restart lap, while Fabien Lavergne tumbled down to tenth place with CD Sport. For his part, Fabien Michal fell to fourth place.

The other winners are Benjamin Lariche and Robert Consani who unexpectedly find themselves second.

In Pro-AM, Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Jim Pla won with AKKA-ASP.

In Am, Pascal Huteau and Christophe Hamon took the lead from the Full Motorsport Audi.
