The good operation of Michal – Guilvert in C1 in Barcelona

Fabien Michal and Grégory Guilvert won the first race of the FFSAGT in Barcelona, and come back strongly in the general championship ranking after the setbacks of leaders Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche.

The start of the race saw the Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°48 – Orhes Racing of Olivier Pernaut take the advantage at the start, benefiting from a better top speed than the Ginetta G55 GT4 n°15 – NM Racing of polesitter Lluc Ibanez.

Pernaut then took in his wake the Maserati GranTurismo GT4 n°34 – GP34 by Gemo Motorsport of Olivier Gomez, while Pierre Sancinéna managed to hoist theAlpine A110 GT4 n°36 – CMR in third place.

At the restart, Pernaut resisted pressure from Gomez as best he could, while Olivier Jouffret (Porsche Cayman GT4 n°64 – Vic'Team), Douglas Lundberg (Ginetta G55 GT4 n°7 – SpeedCar) and Fabien Michal (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°42 – Saintéloc Racing) find the opening on theAlpine by Pierre Sancinena.

Gomez finally tried his luck at the last chicane after twenty minutes of racing, but hit the leading Audi while braking for the last chicane. Both cars can continue, but Gomez loses a place to Olivier Jouffret's Porsche Cayman.

Saintéloc wins, Consani-Lariche slowed down

Events accelerate in the second stint. If Philippe Marie emerges in the lead with the No. 48 Audi, the leader is quickly overtaken by Eric Trémoulet (No. 64 Porsche), followed by the two No. 8 and No. 5 Saintéloc Racing Audi R42 LMS.

Lonni Martins and Grégory Guilvert got rid of Trémoulet immediately, before Guilvert took the advantage over Martins. The former Blancpain GT Series resident then escaped in the lead and achieved an excellent performance in the championship, since his rivals Benjamin Lariche and Robert Consani (Ginetta G55 GT4 n°8 – Speedcar) were forced to retire. Nine points now separate the two crews at the top of the general classification.

Behind the winners Grégory Guilvert and Fabien Michal, Eric Trémoulet and Olivier Jouffret secured second place, after Lonni Martins' puncture, but remain under investigation for their pit stop.

Thomas Drouet and Benjamin Ricci hoist the Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°88 – AKKA-ASP on the podium in front of theAlpine A110 GT4 n°36 – CMR of the Sancinéna – Jean tandem, which held off Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Jim Pla (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°87 – AKKA-ASP) and the Ginetta G55 of polemen Ibanez – Lloveras.

In the Am Cup, victory went to the No. 55 Ginetta G4 GT4 of Rodolphe Wallgren.

The second race of the weekend will take place tomorrow from 13:10 p.m. and will again be available to follow live video on our website.
