The FFSA GT final will not be in Lédenon

As feared, Covid-19 got the better of the final of the FFSAGT of Lédenon. The confinement and especially the prefectural measures in force in Gard led to the cancellation of the round planned for this weekend.

The reception conditions in the region's hospitals, which were crowded, confirmed the SRO's decision more than the status of the event, authorized since it was professional.

The promoter is not giving up on the idea of playing the final. He has been working hard since last weekend on a fallback solution. It should not take place this weekend, given the time needed for the teams and the organization to turn around. Many people were due to leave for Lédenon on Tuesday.

SRO is studying several avenues. One of them would be to integrate the GT World Challenge round at the Paul Ricard circuit, scheduled for November 14 and 15. The foreigner cannot be excluded either. The Navarra and Catalunya circuits in Spain are near the border.

Regardless, holding the final remains essential for the teams and promoters at a sporting but also economic level in view of the 2021 season. In addition to the French FFSA GT Championship, the initial program notably included F4 France, which must also manage the possibility of cancellation of its final at Le Mans on November 14 and 15.
