Lapierre/Parisy win with confidence on the night of Pau

Mike Parisy Although he had a whopping 14 victories at the Pau Grand Prix (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), the Palois had never won the winner's trophy in the GT category. It is now done after the first race of the 2018 edition, contested Saturday evening at night.

Much faster aboard the agile Ginetta G55, the Swede Douglas Lundberg (Speed ​​Car) took the lead before the wave of pit stops. The Porsche knocked down from No. 1 regained the upper hand thanks to a better pace from Mike Parisy over Pierre Courroye.

 

 

The race was interrupted five minutes from time due toa pileup involving three cars. The Audi R8 LMS of Manel Carqueda (Baporo Motorsport) hit the safety rail head-on after the first curve of the circuit. Soheil Ayari (CMR) then hit it while trying to avoid it and Cyril Saleilles (Cool Racing) recovered a wandering wheel right in the radiator of the Porsche.
