The new provisional calendar for the FFSA GT

Le FFSAGT has a new calendar for the 2020 season. Championship organizer SRO Motorsports Group had to review its travel arrangements due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Scheduled for the weekend of May 24, the Pau Grand Prix (Pyrénées-Atlantique) had to be canceled in view of the situation. The urban event will be replaced by Albi (Tarn) which will host the FFSA GT grid for the first time on the weekend of October 18.

Already postponed to July, the Nogaro Easter Cups (Gers) have been postponed to the weekend of August 23.

The season is scheduled to begin on the weekend of July 19 at Spa-Francorchamps as part of the SRO Spa Speedweek. After Nogaro, the season would continue at Magny-Cours (Nièvre) on the weekend of September 13 and at Paul-Ricard (Var) on the weekend of October 4 before finishing in Albi and Lédenon (Gard) for the weekend. ends of October 18 and November 8.

“This new calendar allows us to keep six meetings while avoiding directly following race weekends., explains Laurent Gaudin, General Manager of the French FFSA GT Championship. As many of our teams wanted, it also harmonizes with the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS calendar since there is no date clash with the exception of the common weekend at Magny-Cours . Now it is obvious that, like everyone, we are dependent on the evolution of the situation and that we remain very attentive to the decisions that will be taken by the government in the coming weeks. »
